Welcome

The picturesque Firth of Forth coastline forms the backdrop to this scenic Half Marathon which takes place on Sunday 5th April 2009. In recognition of Chris Hoys' gold medal successes at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the 2009 Edinburgh Half Marathon has been renamed the Chris Hoy Edinburgh Half Marathon.

Sir Chris Hoy, speaking about his (own) half marathon experience on Sunday 5 April 2009 had this to say: "I was delighted that Meadowbank featured in the event - a great place to start and then there was a superb grandstand finish at Musselburgh racecourse. Well done to the organisers and congratulations to all those who took part. This is great for the sport and can only encourage more people of all ages to adopt a healthier, more active lifestyle."
